Volleyball Wraps Up Play at Transylvania

The Capital University volleyball team concluded play at the HCAC-OAC Challenge Tournament at Transylvania Saturday with back-to-back losses in Lexington, Ky.2012 - Arledge

The Crusaders (6-13 overall, 0-1 Ohio Athletic Conference) dropped the day's opener against host Transylvania by a 25-14, 25-17, 25-21 count. Capital concluded tournament play with a 25-19, 27-25, 20-25, 25-15 setback against Bluffton.

Against the Pioneers (6-10), freshman Olivia Arledge (Frankfort, Ohio; at right) led the offense with eight kills, while senior Leanne Schaefer (Verona, Wis.) chipped in with five.

Senior Shannon Quinn (Miamisburg, Ohio) paced the defense with 14 digs, while sophomore Kelly Leonard (Cincinnati, Ohio) and freshman Natalie Briggs (Pataskala, Ohio) combined for 23 digs.
